Day 2

Day 2 looks like it will be pretty tough - nothing to do with the lateness of the previous evening or the quantities of thirst quenching local ale. Just really tough to come back in and get started again. Pete bravely struck out with an unsurpassed vocal performance from the booth. I can't think why, but the studio engineers keep opening the doors to let in fresh air.

As I type, John is playing some awesome rock bass.

Recording the BV's

Here we are doing the BV's for track 3

Don't we look worried...

Track 2 is in the can

One hour later and we have track 2 all tucked up in bed and ready for the burn to CD.

SSSSSSSmokin'.

Landmark 1 is reached

We have recorded, mixed and mastered track 1.

17:00 on the nail - this band works fast.

Shakin Stephen

Steve gets the shakes... and we're only half way through day

basssdocc

hi- woww we are soooo cooool, yo man , it is magic- fab time dudes, gazza is a total main dude ......yeah.......

Phew...and relax

Drummer now winding down, tracks laid down....time to watch all the others perform no pressure then - go for it chaps - pass that beer over here

Over dub time

Even John is getting slightly twitched about the over dubs (he's playing a bit of lead later and wanted to rehearse).

Here's David having a stab at it - poor soul, we all watch on in fear...

DD in session

Oh hell - it's my turn to vocal

3rd track to lay down - more studio resetting, more nerves, more self conscious glances at Gareth the studio man.

Gulp, go on then - hit it Steve

Track 2 guide is DOWN

Yes we are on a roll and track 2 guide is now down - David spared his keyboard over dub until later.

Cheese organ and jangly guitar = bring on the coffee.

Track 1 Guide is DOWN!

Yes we are rocking - track 1 guide is now recorded and in the machine - very tricky stuff but we managed.

David drinks his coffee and waits... he's next up with the keyboard over dub.

By the way - we are here at the Cube - http://www.cuberecording.com/

That DIfficult Second Album

Here we are trying to lay down Dad Dancing's difficult second album.

So many choices to make, so much mustard to cut, so many chords to learn...

and so much damn hanging around while we get the drums mic'd up.
